Tidewater Virginia Historical Society was fortunate to have a great team of volunteers who had built a basic site with some enhanced functionality, however their needs quickly outgrew what their volunteer team had resources for. They came to us seeking advice on how to redesign their website and establish a presence in social media. We quickly came to the conclusion that their site would benefit from a redesign that was responsive (would work on both computers and mobile devices), had a more modern look and added functionality.
After adding some color to their previously monotone logo, we redesigned their website with the new color scheme. We integrated social media, a blog, an events calendar with the ability to sell tickets, a membership signup with online payment and ads that rotated on the site. We also provided them with a social media marketing plan and setup their new Facebook page. Their new website has received consistently more traffic than their old one and successfully raised nearly $1,000 through their website in the first month it was online.
They currently maintain an active presence on Facebook, both creating and curating content to share with their audience. The Tidewater Virginia Historical Society is a great example of a nonprofit that benefits from volunteers who are actively engaged with the marketing of the organization and their mission. Without those volunteers, their investment into their new website and social media presence would not have benefitted them.
